Past, present, and future tense
In instructional sets, it typically feels natural to describe the experience in a mix of past, present, and future tenses. Even though you are instructing the reader to take action in the present moment, it is natural to describe what they will experience as a result of the action in future tense, and to review what they have experienced in past tense.
Example: Select the 2D button. Your scene will look flattened.
Use past and future tense naturally to describe past and future events in the learning experience.
Example: You have created your first 3D scene — congratulations! Next, you’ll experiment with the physical properties of GameObjects.
