Practical activity assets

Assets refers to any files that you provide for download from the Learn platform from within your learning experience. You can include resources that support a practical activity, as well as any others that support your learning experience.

YOUR CHARTER

All charters: required

Assets can include any of the following:

  • Unity projects or assets in a zipped .unitypackage file.
  • Models and other assets to import into Unity.
  • Image files to import as textures or sprites.
note

Practical activity assets don't include images or videos that you intend to integrate into the written copy for your tutorials.

Assets for Unity projects

In many cases, teams create Unity projects that are customized to the learning experience. You can simplify your development effort by using Asset Store assets, other premade assets, or even an empty scene (for example, in the projects in the Explore Unity mission of Unity Essentials).

Asset files must be no larger than 4GB. Keep your assets as simple as possible while supporting your goals for the learning experience. Also consider performance on the learners' computers and the simplicity of the learning experience.

Roles and responsibilities

If the practical activity assets are not yet built or require some development, we recommend that you identify people to fill the following roles:

  • Unity developers and artists for environment, characters, audio, scripting, and other technical roles.
  • QA reviewers, who be anyone except the developer.

Asset standards

Any Unity assets you provide must meet Unity Asset Store standards even if they are made available on the Learn platform and not from the Asset Store. The Learn team will check for these standards in your final checklist before we will publish your learning experience.
