Levels
We use five learner levels: Absolute beginner (Foundational), Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Expert.
Typically, Learn tutorials are Absolute beginner, Beginner, or Intermediate:
- Absolute beginners have never used Unity before. The learning experience includes installing Unity and opening their first project and scene.
- Beginners know how to use the standard Unity Editor and Hub user interfaces, and they understand basic concepts. Ideally, they have completed Unity Essentials or Create with Code.
- Intermediate learners have a general understanding of Unity and have started a portfolio. They are ready to learn about specialized features, services, and concepts.
- We expect Advanced and Expert learners to use the Learn platform for brief, process-based tutorials on specialized Unity features.
Prerequisites
As you consider the learner level for your learning experience, also think about any specific prerequisites that your learners must know before they embark on your learning experience. Make sure your prerequisites are at the same level, or one level earlier, than your own learning experience. If you get stuck, consult your LXD.
ACTION
Consult your charter for a link to the About your learners worksheet (if you haven't started the worksheet already), and record your learner level and prerequisites.
